Trick or Treat..smell my....

...little skunk!

Happy Halloween from our little stinker! :)

This is what his costume would look like if he could stand up! ;)
Can you believe I won it on ebay for 9.99?? We went and looked at costumes at the Halloween store here, and they wanted 39.99 for a furry puppy dog costume that left more fake fur on Jack when he was finished trying it on, then it did on the actual costume. SO CHEAP! So, I put my frugalness to work, and found this adorable Children's Place skunk for 9.99. Fantastic deal, and a great quality (warm) costume!

Oh, and just for my sister-in-laws, who pick on me for packing Luke a "fresh deli sandwich" every day for lunch.... just FYI he gets holiday lunches, too. Everything is green and orange, including his food dyed ranch dressing :) I think Jack needs to go to Kindergarten, OR I need to go back to teaching Kindergarten, and spare poor Luke. :)

5 - YES, F-I-V-E months

Can you believe it!? Holy moley...all the old ladies in the grocery store always say "enjoy it, it goes by way too fast"...and I typically think "Is that what every white haired, over 65 lady says?"...haha....However, they aren't kidding! What is new with our pumpkin??

  • First, HE HAS 2 TEETH! Last week his first chomper popped through (middle bottom), and today he woke up with tooth #1's neighbor! Surprisingly, he isn't even that grouchy! I think (more like HOPE) that is why he was having a hard time sleeping. I can't believe I won't be going into a gummy smile at 7am EVER again... :( Oh well, teeth are very becoming on him...so he will be equally as cute!
  • He weighs 100lbs...well, it feels that way. I haven't had him on a scale, but I can promise you that he is B-I-G. He is quickly growing out of his 6-12 month clothes. I even bought him a pair of 12-18 month pants this week! They are WAY long, but what can you expect with parents that both have to have their pants hemmed! :)
  • He LOVES food (go figure)! Jack eats 3 times a day. A fruit and oatmeal for breakfast, a vegetable and rice for lunch and then a fruit and vegetable for dinner. He says "ummmm..ummm" (yum yum) before each bite . He loves sweet potatoes, squash, peaches, apples, pears and bananas...every thing else is iffy, and carrots are completely out of the picture. Today he refused to even open for the carrots...so, we'll have to work on that! His Grammy Guinane HATES warmed carrots, too.
  • Jackson says "HEYYYY" back to you...we swear! Today, he tried to wave buh bye!
  • He has been going to the YMCA a couple of times a week in the morning with me. I workout and he plays in the Child Watch area w/ the daycare workers. He has already made 3 old men friends...one is bringing him a homemade wooden train on Monday...oh lord! I am not going to lie, I had a minor heart attack when they put him down on their grungy blanket..and within 3 seconds he had one of their toys in his mouth...the entire time on the treadmill I was thinking "holy germs..holy germs". But, as a teacher, I know that being exposed to some germs is healthy..otherwise he will go to Kindergarten and be "that kid"..who gets sick every week due to all of the new germs. Deep breaths..
  • I am chopped liver as soon as Daddy walks through the door...he LOVES Luke...expected. Mommy does all the work..Daddy has all the fun! ;)
  • His hair is out of control. That mane is going to keep him warm this winter. This afternoon he is going to get his ears trimmed up at Luke's barber shop...the hair is starting to grow over his ears and he looks like a hot mess. I partially think Luke wants him to get his hair cut at his barber shop because it is where Joe Pa gets his hair cut, and he wants to be able to tell Jack that they had the same barber some day. Maybe Joe will be getting his locks cut today, too? We'll see! He only goes every 6 weeks, so our chances are slim.

giving Daddy some loving before work!

can you say..forced smile? haha!

caught a picture of  his tooth!

couldn't you just eat those cheeks up??

Best Buddy Bailee

Jackson and Bailee are the best of friends! Bailee enjoys Jack just as much as Jack enjoys Bailee..it is quite cute! We were so surprised when we brought Jack home, and Bailee was depressed (he didn't move from his chair for a week)..we always thought that he would just eat the baby up (not literally - although, it would be understandable). Now, they spend time together each day, and EVERY day Jack finds Bailee just as funny as the day before. That furry tail flopping in his face just never seems to get old. The best is watching Jackson "chase" Bailee in his Johnny JumpUp...he lunges at him, and then flings backwards..

the only thing...Bailee isn't the best babysitter...I stepped away for 2 seconds...and this is what I came back to! At least Jack thought it was hysterical! :)

Fall Fun!

I only took this picture to show Jack's turkey thigh legs! He hasn't been in shorts in quite awhile, and somehow lost his pants this morning..and I couldn't get over how humungo his legs looked!

Jackson had a nice long weekend with his Mema and Aunt Hay and Uncle Josh... it was nice for them to be able to spend 1 on 1 time together. I, selfishly, LOVE when people come to visit us. It is so much less stressful...as packing up a baby and EVERYTHING he needs takes an entire day, and he sleeps so much better in his crib.

We had a nice lunch at a cafe  in downtown Bellefonte, where the deck bridges over this stream...very pretty.

Yes, his legs got stuck when we put him through the hole in this tree and yes, I must think I am a professional photographer to attempt a picture like this. No, it didn't turn out as awesome as I had anticipated :)

...looking so cute in his little outfit from his cousin, Sam. We LOVE fall baby clothes!

..the best compliment I have received (time and time again) is how happy and personable Jack is. It truly is the most flattering compliment to know that your baby just loves people AND life! He is such a dream baby.. minus the fact that he isn't the most amazing sleeper- BUT, he is getting better! :)

In the meantime, I lost my memory card..so we are without pictures from the last couple of weeks! I never lose anything b/c
everything has a place in our house (blah blah)...it is driving me CRAZY! So, we went to Walmart to buy a new memory card..and ended up leaving with a cart full of new toys for Jackson...anddddd no memory card. I got distracted in the baby aisle, and completely forgot! We have since been back to the store and now have a new memory card...HOORAY, so I will be making up for the last couple weeks this week!

"Jack-O-Lantern"

Jack's papa came up with the creative saying "Jack-O-Lantern" when he saw this picture, following our adventure to the pumpkin patch...

Oh. my. gosh. It just doesn't get any cuter, does it!? I didn't realize how great of a photo this REALLY was until a few days later. It looks like Jack is posed in the pumpkins..when in actuality he was just PLOPPED there, and initially fell sideways down into the heap of pumpkins..haha!

Here are some pictures of our trip....

Mo and Jo (the goats) were NOT a hit. Jack looked at them for about 5 seconds and then started whaling!

Here are the five seconds before...
(looking so cute w/ his dad and their matching hats)

Not so much...

the crying and drooling....
We could not believe that he was actually scared of something. I mean, they didn't make any noise, and he thinks dogs and cats are hysterical, so we thought that he would for sure love the goats. Luke thinks it was their scary eyes. Now Luke "threatens" to take him back to Mo & Jo if he doesn't sleep well! :)

SO big! a whole 2 ft (almost)

What is so funny??

Oh no, THAT didn't scare him...

Wiz came along for the fun...and had a great time!
It was a fun afternoon, and we came home with 2 beautiful pumpkins! In years past, Luke and I always made it our goal to get the most perfect pumpkin (more perfect than the others)...it usually took us the entire afternoon to pick our pumpkins. My how babies change things...I had my pumpkin picked out THE SECOND we walked through...and Luke took about 30 seconds to pick his! Needless to say..we had a diaper to change and a bottle to feed! :) (My pumpkin is rounder, though) ;)
