Happy Birthday, Daddy!

We celebrated Luke's 29th - yes,  twenty ninth, birthday this week! He is totally old..being 4 years apart for most of the month of August allows me to say that! It is going to be more and more fun to rub it in in years to come, when he really is old.... and I am not :) He has been REALLY busy at work, and it just so happened that his birthday fell on a Wednesday, which is family day (he gets out of work at 3), so it worked out nice for him! Jackson was pretty cranky on Wednesday, so he might have been better off staying at work! :)

He had a nice surprise around 7oclock when the doorbell rang. Luke was upstairs giving the baby a bottle when his parents showed up to surprise him! I told him that "those religious people" were at the door and wouldn't leave. He got all huffy puff, handed the baby off to me and said "the jehovies?", went downstairs and found his mom and dad! It meant a lot to him, as driving 2.5 hours both ways is an awful long trip just to spend a couple of hours with him. We had a monstrous peanut butter ice cream cake... probably the most unhealthy dessert I have ever made. It has a peanut butter brownie base, topped with peanut butter ice cream, which is topped with homemade whipped cream, which is topped with Reese cups. After the 8 hour process of making this "simple" cake, I decided that next year I would just take a can of Peter Pan, freeze it, and plop 30 candles in the jar! Luke would probably be just as happy! :)

Here is the recipe..if you dare:
(I used frozen yogurt instead of ice cream, and was still pretty delicious!)

He is wishing for one of two things:
-The baby stops being cranky....
-That he doesn't have to share...

 Enjoying a nice little visit!

Gary and Luke shopping in the "Speedway Motors" catalog.  The majority of Luke's birthday presents were giftcards to there, so he can purchase parts for his 1937 Plymouth!

 Jackson being a party pooper...

...and thinking..it is SO great to see you, but I would like some of that cake rather than this bottle.

We had a good time, while Daddy was at work, having a photoshoot... we thought we'd send him some cute pictures in his email to brighten his day..

..but first, we had to make sure that the strap wasn't going to cut the circulation off in Jack's neck.

 We had so much fun...

 ...for a second.

Even Wizabef joined in on the party! haha
